HVAC Training Schools in Kentucky

HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) appliances have more and more impact on today’s people lives. People that repair, service and install the appliances are technicians with the knowledge in HVACR industry.

Refrigeration is the most common field of heating and cooling technology since different kinds of refrigerants and freezers can be found in every building whether it is a residential, commercial or industrial one. Refrigerants in both home and commercial facilities are used in order to preserve food, produce ice or to cool various types of drinks so it’s crucial to keep them in working order.

Why are the HVACR Technicians Important?

When it comes to importance of HVACR technicians, they handle the refrigerants and other HVAC units.

The HVACR mechanics maintain and repair the appliances that don’t work in order to preserve the quality of food stored in them. If the food is not stored well, it is not safe for eating and it can be really dangerous for the health of people. To preserve food from spoiling, refrigeration technicians check the electrical wiring within freezers, service compressors, thermostats, evaporators and other.

Another reason of the importance of the HVACR technicians is their knowledge in the energy saving. Having a refrigeration appliance, as well as other appliances, usually costs a lot. In order to cut the expenses, the HVACR technicians can make appliance energy efficient.

So whether you need to be able to repair your own appliances when they stop working or you are interested in becoming a technician yourself, there are universities and colleges that offer courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration in the state of Kentucky.

Where Can You Get a HVAC Education and Training?

In case you want to pursue a career in HVAC technology in Kentucky, there are some programs offered by the state’s colleges and schools. If you are in a rush, there are programs that can be completed in less than a year.

First school we recommend is TPC Trainco. This school offers training and seminars in refrigeration. The seminars last from two to four days and training in HVAC techniques can be attended both online and on-site. TPC Trainco also provides public seminars for the individuals that want to develop their mechanical and maintenance skills. The HVAC instructors are skilled and experienced technicians that will teach students in building, managing and servicing of the EPA regulated refrigerants. Instructors also teach in safety and the energy efficiency standards.

When it comes to programs that offer associate’s degree, Ashland University’s Community and Technical College and Big Sandy Community and Technical College provide courses in refrigeration fundamentals and refrigeration mechanics.

Besides the mentioned lectures in refrigeration and refrigeration handling, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College also offers the general education courses.

And if you would like to obtain certificates in chiller and boiler maintenance and refrigeration, West Kentucky Community and Technical College’s programs can be completed in three semesters.

The offered programs are somewhat similar so make sure you get additional information before enrolling into one of them. Some may offer internship that can help you gain experience and some are more specialized.
